Divinity

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. karo
2 egg whites beaten stiff


Boil sugar, water and karo until hard ball stage. or until it spins a thread.  
Pour over beaten egg whites.  Beat until it is stiff and goes to set.  
If nuts are not used, add vanilla.

A classic holiday candy recipe.  Make it now and save it for the festivities later in the month.  I think it saves pretty well.

  1. My Grandmother Dickerson used to always make Divinity and added black walnuts to it, I was never a fan of the strong taste of black walnuts.
