Cream Cheese (Meat) Balls

Part I:
1 onion (chopped fine)
1 1/2 cups cracker crumbs
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 up uncooked oatmeal
1/2 cup walnuts (chopped fine)
1 tsp accent (optional)
1/2 tsp garlic salt & salt to taste
Cream together 5 eggs & 4 oz Cream Cheese

Blend all of the above, form into balls, drop into hot vegetable oil and brown.

Part II:
1 pkg. Gravy Quick
1 can mushroom soup
1 packet G. Washington Brown broth

Mix gravy as directed on the package, pour hot gravy over balls in casserole and bake 45 - 60 minutes @ 350 degrees F.

Option: This can be baked as a loaf. I also use these balls with my favorite spaghetti sauce for spaghetti and meatballs.

This recipe says it is from my Aunt Kathy. Made either way-as balls with the Part II gravy, in a loaf with gravy along side or used in spaghetti sauce, these are good.

  1. I think mom also has a recipe for meat(less) balls using pecans. Who knows, maybe you'll come across that one too.
