Grandma's Recipes

As I look at the non-descript grey metal recipe box, I wonder what to do with the contents. Inside this box is a collection of recipes from my Grandma's house. One might assume that it is only full of favorites because she cooked things that are not included in this box full. Or an assumption could be that they were the ones she didn't cook often enough to have them committed to memory. Another assumption might be that these were the recipes she wanted to be sure she prepared just right.

My own personal take is that she was just like the rest of us, she collected recipes from here and there and the box includes recipes of foods she ate made by others that she wanted to copy, foods that others loved so she wanted to have the preparation down pat and those that she cooked from time to time, but not often enough to remember all the details.

What I also see if an item on my to-do list. I want to keep them all and share them all. The debate in my head has been how best to accomplish this. I hope the blog will work for these purposes. I also want to have comments and stories from those who might have shared in these meals or portions of meals. I also hope that they will share any other memory that pops up as I put each recipe out here for review.

Let's get started.
